League Info
MISSION STATEMENT
The purpose of the Western New York Premier Basketball League (WNYPBL) is to create an inclusive, and ability appropriate, league structure that provides meaningful competition for athletes of both genders, grades 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, and 9, or combined 3/4, 5/6, 7/8 & 9th. It is our goal to provide players with exposure to a structured setting with other competitive organizations from around the Western NY region, and other areas as well. Training services will be available for all organizations who wish to have these. An important aspect of this league is to support every organization financially. This will allow our Western NY teams to attend bigger tournaments. Those tournaments include, but are not limited to, EYBL, Zero Gravity, the UA Circuit, Nationals, Vegas, etc. We intend on hosting several weekend tournaments with the idea of supporting each organization by creating unity throughout Western NY for years to come.
LEAGUE SUMMARY
Each organization that joins the Western New York Premier Basketball League (WNYPBL) with 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th, and 9th grade or combined 3/4, 5/6, 7/8 & 9th players will be eligible to participate in a 12-weekend league. Teams that have facilities will host home games, providing officials, score/clock keepers, and statisticians, video, and photography when possible, benefitting from admissions, 50/50 raffle, etc. For those teams without facilities or officials, Upstate Franchise can assist in providing these.
The 2025-2026 league will be a pilot league open to both genders in grades 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 and 9 or combined grade levels, all levels of play (CYO, travel, AAU, etc.). All teams competing in the league will be eligible for the 2026 WNYPBL Cup Championships and UFBA Spring/Summer basketball tournaments.
LEAGUE SCHEDULE
Teams will play a minimum of 24 games over the course of 12 weeks (schedule may include two games in one day or 2-3 games over the course of the weekend). The games will be scheduled on Saturday and Sunday with 16 minutes per half. Travel arrangements for organizations traveling one hour or more will be accommodated with a flexible schedule. The league will run December 6-February 28.
The schedule will be provided by UFBA and WNYPBL Council, consisting of Upstate Franchise Basketball Association Board of Directors, Hoop ‘n Holla, Hoop and Motivate, RAP, Rochester City Rocks, Skill, RSBA, Ease Elite, and other surrounding programs. The schedule will be available no less than two weeks prior to the first game, subject to change.
LOCATIONS
Home games will be played at the hosting teams home gym. Western New York Premier Basketball League (WNYPBL) will also have secured venues across the greater Rochester area for those teams without a gym and will be provided at cost to teams as needed. Due to the uncertainty of the number of teams in each age category and division, Western New York Premier Basketball League (WNYPBL) locations will be announced shortly after the registration deadline.
DIVISION BREAKDOWN
When teams register, they will declare their level of play (A & B). At the close of registration, schedules will be created to make the games as engaging and competitive as possible.
