WHY UFBA?
More Than Basketball. A Movement for Youth Development.
At Upstate Franchise Basketball Association (UFBA), we believe basketball is just the beginning.
Our mission is to empower youth with the skills, support, and opportunities they need to succeed in sports, school, and life. Through basketball, rugby, leadership development, mental health awareness, and educational support, we create programs that help young people grow into confident leaders and positive contributors to their communities.
We are committed to building the community one individual at a time, ensuring every young person has the opportunity to learn, grow, and succeed.
Because at Upstate Franchise, there is no player left behind—and no youth left without opportunity.
Our Approach
UFBA exists to create opportunities for youth by focusing on holistic development, not just athletic performance.
Through mentorship, structured programming, and community partnerships, we help youth develop:
-
Confidence and resilience
-
Leadership and teamwork
-
Mental and physical wellness
-
Life and career skills
-
A strong sense of community responsibility
Our goal is simple: prepare youth not just for the next game, but for the game of life.
The Four Pillars of Development
Everything we do at UFBA is guided by our Four Pillars of Development.
Athletics
Developing basketball skills, teamwork, discipline, and a love for the game.
Wellness
Promoting mental health awareness, emotional resilience, and physical fitness.
Leadership
Building character, responsibility, and confidence in every young person we serve.
Enrichment
Providing educational support, life skills training, and vocational exploration.
Together, these pillars help youth unlock their potential while strengthening the communities they belong to.

No Player Left Behind
Every young person deserves the chance to learn, grow, and succeed.
